I love it, but no one I know does. Why is this, they always ridicule me.

I think you just have to find the right people. I LOVE metal, and have lots of friends who love it just as much as or more than me

uk what? none of my friends EXCEPT 1 that i never c (she moved 2 england, and i am here in the US) listens 2 the same music as me. ur not alone. every1 in my grade is oblivious 2 indie rock. its my family and that 1 friend. o well, just enjoy it. what else is music for?
and dont worry, if they r tru friends, they're just joking ok?
i personally really dont like metal, but screaming and harsh sounds r not 4 me. no, i am not old, and no, i was not born w/ an inverted ear! and i dont like metal, but i listen 2 things that u would NEVER find on the radio!! yea, rite, i am not a follower either! o yea, nor am i gay (or lesbian, cause i'm a girl). (ik u didnt say it, other ppl did tho) its b/c its just not what i like. i listen 2 music 1 may call sissy compared 2 what u like. and u dont have 2 like what i do, and i dont have 2 like what u do.
just relax and enjoy the music.......

Anyhoo, there are tons of metalheads on this site. I see it all the time. Maybe you're just going into the wrong posts, but trust me lots of people love the metal around here.
Speaking of awesome and metal have you heard of Jud Jud. They are a totally sweet accapella metal band. Very obscure, but very cool.

Coz metal, as much as I hate to admit it, looks dumb! There are some great bands, and some of my favourite bands ever are metal bands, like Mastadon or Opeth. But it just sounds so differant from everything else, you have to be really into it to "get" it.

umm...wha? steel is extra regularly stated in Rock and dad than Rock and dad. yet as quickly as we dismiss that: steel is love or hate. for many, it incredibly is a project to hearken to. that would sound ridiculous, yet think of roughly it - why is steel no longer interior the precise 40 hits? simply by fact (for the final inhabitants) it does not have you ever making a music alongside and wiggling your hips interior the 1st 20 seconds. yet once you hop over the preliminary hurdle (or walk precise with the aid of it, no longer noticing it incredibly is there), then steel could have you ever hooked. each little thing else seems simplistic, boring and lacking in substance. that's so mean! they actually ridicule you!! not cool, i love metal(dad got me into it) but a lot of the old 70s and 80s stuff. i also like country and rock/pop with justa touch of Hip Hop/Rap. so i'm kinda mixed but i embrace metal and understand it too! the people who ridicule you r just dumbasses, don't listen to them!!!!! ROCK ON!!!!!

I am 14 and LOVE Metal! Have you ever heard of Flyleaf? they are alternative metal, but I mean if the metal you listen to is bad, then I would probably ridicule you too. jk! But you should listen to good stuff like Demon Hunter or Underoath!

I just grew out of most metal...mellowed into rock like AC/DC, RHCP, Velvet Revolver, GNR, etc.
When Pantera or Megadeth comes up on my iPod, I cringe. Some Metallica is still good, though.

I like it. You want to know why people don't like it, including my sister, is because rap/hip hop and that **** is the new music. Since most of the popular kids, majority girls, listen to it their friends want to listen to it. Then it carries over to the boys because their girlfriend listens to it. If you noticed, all rap/hip hop is is : yo yo ***** ***** yo yo *bmp bmp* yo. Metal actually gets you motivated, doesn't have "players", there's actually skill to it (guitar, base, drums, keyboard) especially the fast metal like dragonforce. Also, the singers make up lyrics tht aren't just about doing chicks and having gang fight or parties. Don't be a follower, and listen to music you like.

I don't hate metal I embrace it!! I love metal. It's the only music, besides classical, that I can stand.
