The best way to speed up your Internet Access and get full bandwidth out of your connection is by Windows Registry settings...Using the programing below has always got me faster speeds than the advertised speed of my ISP providers by 20%.

This is easily done with CableNut Adjuster...(also works for dialup & dsl)
Go here and download the Free Adjuster...
http://www.cablenut.com/
Then go here for the settings to put into it...You can download the file then import it into the adjuster...easy...

After putting in the new settings into the adjuster save to registry, then reboot and test your new speeds... (Make sure to backup the default settings first)

I've had friends do this and go from 6mbs to 10mbs download speeds...
This will also help with online gaming ping...I have a 120kbps (+20% faster using CableNut) (15KBs) connection (limited cable service advertised at 100kbps) and average 50-100 ping on most servers...

All you can really do is optimize your PC to receive data whether it's Dial Up, Cable, DSL, or whatever else.

The optimization software cannot do anything to improve the speed of the data that you are downloading since it doesn't effect the transmission speeds at the source.

You have to understand that your ISP usually states: "speeds up to....". In my case I have Verizon High Speed DSL and they state: "speeds up to 3.0 MB per second". It typically tests out at around 2.8MB. I have never seen 3.0MB.

If you want to use a really great site to test your connection speed give this a try:

http://www.speakeasy.net/speedtest/

This was given to me by a Verizon field tech and he told me this it the best they have seen because it gives you a true reading of your actual speed and isn't affected by the number of people using the site as most other internet speed test sites are.

Hope this helps.

Don't mess with your registry. It's likely to burn out your computer. Plus, most of those "optimization" softwares are actually either viruses or loaded with spyware.
