A couple come to mind but I will have to go with Lord of the Rings. Cant use Star Wars cause it is six long. So it would have to be Lord of The Rings. Really the only arguement is going to come from the Pirates of the C....... fans. I didnt get into that movie and was very unimpressed with it.

Lord of the rings Trilogy was one of the best made book into a movie ever. The cast was great and the story was magnificient. Not to mention the awards it won and the ground breaking fight scenes that were in it.

The Indiana Jones Trilogy.

I would say The Lord of the Rings, but I don't really consider it a trilogy so much, as one epic film, that had to be divided up into three sections because of it's sheer length.

The Godfather Trilogy.

I would have to say the original Star Wars movies, as they were perhaps the most influential movies of all time. With them the way that we watch movies has changed. The amount of computer graphics that are used in movies today is a direct tribute to the original Star Wars movies.

There is no such thing as a great ''Trilogy''. Sure you can have a fantastic film followed by two medicore sequels (POTC, Back to the future, Die Hard) or two great films with a dissappointing third film (Shrek, Spiderman, Godfather) but never three good films. You can mention Star Wars or LOTR but they are basically one film in three parts.
