On the global scale, consider the conclusions released by the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). This panel represents the consensus of 2500 scientist and government representatives including the World Meteorological Organization. In February, it released a report indicating that there is a 90% certainty that global warming is taking place, and that it’s directly linked to the burning of fossil fuels by humans. So, I'd say it's probably a combination of c and d.

If you dig a little deeper, check the numbers published by the Energy Information Agency (US. Department of Energy). According to EIA, the U.S. consumes a quarter of the world’s crude oil supply annually even though we have less than twentieth of the world’s population. 60% of the oil we use is converted to petroleum and diesel fuel.

If you run the numbers, this means that on average, one American consumes the same amount of crude needed by 7 or our brothers and sisters located throughout the rest of the world. The same can thus be said about or CO2 emissions. So, we as American's probably bear a large responsibility of climate change as well (i.e. burning fossil fuels). Knowing that, we should be doing more to offset our consumption- especially considering the impact that our activities are having on sensitive third world economies (subsistance farmers). You can draw these conclusions without having to reference Al Gore- he's just one messenger.

c is the correct answer

Walk around your neighborhood and imagine that no human had ever set foot there. Think of what that space would look like without ever having seen any human activity.
