Or if you're Canadian, a Chief Scout?

Or hey, if you're from another country what is the highest award in Scouting and what is it called?

I wasn't but I'm a troop leader and I just awarded one of my scouts with his award.

I was a brownie, but I quit when I got to Girl Scouts. I didn't want to learn to make cookies or those stupid flowers out of toilet paper, I wanted to go camping like the Boy Scouts did.

I did not make it to Eagle, I did however make it to Star Scout as a Lone Scout in 1976. (for those not familiar with the Scout Ranks, it goes Scout, Tenderfoot, 2nd Class Scout, 1st Class Scout, Star Scout, Life Scout, and finally Eagle Scout).

My son just crossed over to the Boy Scouts in March, and I am looking at his book, noticed something really sad, it is now possible to make it all the way up to First Class Scout without earning a single merit badge in only 5 months. And as the Scouts now go by Scholl grade instead of age, it is possible to have 12 year old Eagle Scouts.

I was in Cub Scouts for a few years when I was a kid. One of my regrets (I only have a few) is that I didn't stick with it. I would have liked to achieve Eagle Scout. - - - I have 3 sons and my oldest just finished his first year of Cub Scouts (Tiger Cubs). I could see him (and my other 2 boys) being Eagle Scouts some day.

(A boy from our church just made Eagle Scout.)
