I'm graduating college in the fall with degrees in sociology and criminal justice. Just wondering what kind of jobs I should look into.

Excuse me, you are graduating and don't have clue? Have you not thought this through before now! It's no wonder the older generation has trouble relating to the younger. What did you learn? What do you want to do? What are you good at? I can guarantee that if you submit an application for anything it will loudly proclaim "I am wandering around and don't know what to do" I don't care how many courses you have taken, you missed the point. Go back to the beginning and start over.

Well, your degree may work against you. Can you get a job at the university you're attending as a graduate assistant? Your options with a psych degree are kind of limited. That's why I didn't graduate when I was close to getting a BS in psych and instead switched to nursing. Honestly? Psychology is one of the most common degrees out there and many schools will be up front and tell you most psych majors don't work in the field. You may be lucky to even get a job as a receptionist in today's economy. I don't know how bad it is in Georgia. Keep on applying and see if there is a job board on your university's web site. Edit: I didn't say no degree was better, but it's barely better than a high school diploma.

It seems to me the answer should be obvious. Here are a few:

Policeman
Court Bailiff
Corrections or Probation Officer

Social Worker
Welfare Case Worker

I'm sure there are plenty of others I haven't thought of. Contact your state employment agency, or a private employment agency for assistance.

The best advice I can possibly give you is to visit the college's offices for internships, career & resume writing skills, etc. They usually can set you on the right path and even give you contacts, plus help you get a resume together. Seek it out - it will be SOO worth it.

Sociology and criminal justice? Sounds to me like McDonalds and construction work should be promising for you
