My big brother, James.
My parents split when I was little, and were a little too caught up in the war. My brother is 20 years older than I am, he decided I was 'his baby' and looked out for me. Dad eventually woke up, Mom never did.
If not for my brother, I would not be alive today. Literally, he came to check on me, when I always yelled about it, and saved my life. I would have died of internal injuries on my own kitchen floor, and no one ever would have known what happened.
He's more protective now that my Dad is gone, but is slowly stepping aside for my husband.
He cried like a baby at my wedding.

My mother. If I can be half the mom she is to me and my sister, then I will have accomplished a lot. She is my best friend. She comforts me, advises me, still gets on me about things, but knows when to back off too. She is a lot of fun. My mother is my hero. I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that loves me and my sister unconditionally.

I have two. The first is obviously Christ, who has given me an ability to love others openly, impartially, and with tolerance, despite differences. Second, would be my Angel, she knows who she is. She is because she is an answer to years of prayers. She is so loving in everyway, forgiving, nurturing, sensual, sexy, passionate, kind, giving, accepting, and she has overcome past experiences that would make others shrink inside themselves. She is a survivor, a warrior, and my hero because she loves someone like me in return.

My Dad. He is the most laid-back gentle man I know. I have never heard him say a negative thing about anyone. Everyone who meets him loves him. He would do anything for anyone and I respect him as well as love him with my whole heart. If I could be just a little like him, I will consider my life well-lived.

My daughter really is. She, just by being who she is, reminds me to smile and laugh even under the worst of circumstances. She is a great comforter and a source of hope in my life :)

For me, Jesus and the why part is self explanatory.
My brother because he passed away trying to overcome his drug addiction and was almost back to his old self.
My grandparents because they have been through so many hard times. They are also the strongest people I know.
