I understand that the death of a heinous murderer doesn't bring back the victim- but if you don't have a punishment that fits the crime, why even punish then? Some of these scum of the earth are repeat offenders that keep getting a slap on the wrist. I'm sorry but if you kill someone I love- I just don't think it is justice that you have a roof over your head, food in your stomach, cable t.v etc. all at the expense of my tax dollars!!!!
If you can take the life of an innocent victim- then you should be able to deal with the fact that you will be executed!! Don't do the crime......

Who's Kelsey Smith? And how is she/he any different from all the other people that are murdered or killed every day?

One case isn't going to change the way I feel about the death penalty... Even if my own family member were the victim. I think the system needs to reevaluated, and society as a whole needs to take a hard look at the social and economical inadequacies throughout the nation. In no way do I feel sorry for these criminals, but I think that "the eye for an eye" mentality is not really preventing people from committing similar crimes.

No. each dying row convict is entitled to an attraction technique in this usa. we will not make an exception in this one case. i be attentive to it incredibly is complicated whilst those monsters receive the dying penalty and sit down in penitentiary for some years yet a minimum of they are locked up and could't harm every physique else. Creeps like Ramirez and Randy Kraft have the two been sitting on dying row in California for over two decades. it incredibly is ridiculous. the two holiday their sentences to existence without parole or carry out the dying sentence.

Always stood for the death penalty and it certainly applies now!!

Info_police, executions do not bring back the loved ones, but they do prevent the perp from killing again. If we give that bastard(s) a life sentence, they will be let out on good behavior and kill again. They will take another young woman's life. History has proven that repeatedly!

i am 100% for the death penalty.
inmates are given the opportunity - in prison - to connect via email and chat to society. they are also allowed to have pen pals. they usually target women who have low self esteem and claim their love...then ask the women for money, to pay for their court bills...etc. and in some cases. they convince them to help break them out of jail.

prison - in most states - is more like a motel 6. there is air conditioning, a work out room, cable, internet, free meals and a place to live. except in motel 6 you dont have to worry about being attacked...but still.

everyone is given the same opportunity (at least when it comes to murder- i dont want a racial debate) whether they murder or not. if they dont want to have to worry about being put to death, or in prison for life, etc...simple dont MURDER anyone. (im talking about murder, not self defense)

we (taxpayers) spend millions on keeping these prisoners alive...but amazingly enough, we spend even more to kill them. a simple bullet and a gun would be way more cost effective...and just as efficient.

the only thing that is horrible about the death penalty is if the person being put to death was wrongfully accused. but then again with all of the forensics i would assume that it is close to impossible to mess that up.
- at least i hope.

Was she murdered?

Personally I am not a fan of the death penalty, there is no proof it is a deterrant to violent crime. I don't think it should be abolished, but it should only be used for the most heinous instances.

the killer should have his member sawed off with a dull saw, then his skin should be peeled like a cheese stick, then slowly lowered into a slow acting acid. Do this publically to killers and murders will cease real quick.

I am for the death penalty. I am a medieval history enthusiast, and I think we should go back to something like drawing and quartering whoever is put on trial for that murder.

I have always been a staunch death penalty supporter. I favor execution for ANY and ALL first-degree murder convictions -- no exceptions.

This is tragic. I hope they quickly catch the monster(s) who have such a low respect for the dignity of life.

They should not be put to death. Killing them will not bring the innocent girl back.
