Best one I've seen is actually online. It's called rubies of eventide. You can find it here www.rubiesofeventide.com
It's got good graphics (actually 3-d unlike any of the other free games) a decent set of folks to play with (several hundred play it, but it's still a pretty close community) and lots of areas to explore and fun to be had!
Plus they have events where there are scavenger hunts and stuff like that.
It's a great game. There is violence if you decide to go fight monsters, but it's not of the bloody variety.. you bang away at them (no blood) and when you're done, they fall over in true "ya got me, partner" style.
You might want to try it out.. hey, it's free.

Come by Yongmingcounty... a free yahoo text-based rpg
no bloody violence excepting the Taiping rebellion (an actual rebellion lasting from 1851-1864) portrayed in this rpg- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taiping_Rebellion and there is no swearing at all.
the background for it is this:
This Rpg Group is based on the book "Snowflower and the Secret Fan" In it two girls are forever Laotongs or "Old Sames" Snowflower presents herself to Lily with a fan on which she wrote "Nu Shu" a secret language for women in ninteenth-Century China. Lily is from Puwei and Snowflower from Tongkou. As the years pass, they send messages back and forth using this language. They in their young days both endure footbinding a painful process which horribly disfigures the feet and endure arranged marriage, shared loneliness, and the Joys and sorrows of Motherhood. But when there is a misunderstanding, the friendship suddenly threatens to tear apart.
If you like the background then come by.

"Free RPG Day" happens on June 23rd. I just heard about this the other day for the first time actually... It looks like RPG companies and affiliates draw people into the hobby through promotional material (games, accessories, etc.) to be distributed at local brick and mortar stores. Check here: http://www.freerpgday.com/ ...to see if a store near you is hosting a Free RPG Day event.

If you like text orientated RPG gaming, try Stargate Wars
Or
Eternal Lands its pretty basic graphics, but the only cursing would most likely be from players who lost a PvP match ot something like that.

If you mean online RPG then you can find them at sites like booaghost.com under online multiplayer worlds. A super-popular one is Runescape. It's fun.
