If you are refering to extension ladders, I bought my 20 foot (16' usable height) that holds 250 pounds for less than $100 at Walmart.

unless you are planning on having somebody you dislike use the ladder, you will be much better off to size the ladder to your body weight. I can tell you the fact, it ain't no fun riding a stripped ladder down to grade level. Even if it don't rip your thumbs off, you will be well worn thru the experience.

My advice is to check out the pawn shops near your area and see what is available. Usually you are able to purchase most working tools and equipment for less than 30 cents on the dollar if you shop around a pay ccash.
