Hi i recently took a bank draft and cheque to my local bank and then the next day phoned natwest on the telephone banking number to check my balance and it said all the funds have been cleared. i tried to order something online and it says there is a problem. Could you tell me if the cheque has been cleared. Thanks

Take it up with your bank manager if the problem is with your account. Can the on-line people give any indication or do you know the bank is the problem.

I have heard of Special Clarence cheques being said to be cleared only to find that they have bounced I don't think the bank has a liability for that which is a pain in the ***

For the cheque to have cleared by the next day would seem a bit quick.Usually takes a bit longer than that.Only your bank can tell you if the cheque has cleared and the amount added to your balance.Can't you check it on line or with a card on an ATM?

I think you have to wait 4 days, if the check has cleared the money dosent go in your bank straight away. Its to stop fraud.
