Is that the Conservative way? Be opportunistic and eat your own when it serves yourself?

Bingo, you figured out the zero-sum game behind the "divide and conquer" strategy.

The means in which one gains power via the divide and conquer strategy is by harnessing the negative energy from splitting a larger group into 2 or more smaller groups and setting them to squabbling amongst each other.

Then once you manufacture the "conflict", voila, you appear with the "solution" and harness the energy generated by BOTH sides in either supporting you or opposing you.

The problem is, you have to keep splitting groups into smaller and smaller factions in order to keep utililizing the tactic, so eventually you're going to have to split off some of those who formerly supported you or were on your side and make them new "enemies".

So yes, it's an opportunistic virus-like strategy that eventually requires you to "eat your own".

They're not saying anything they, and other Republicans, haven't said before. Bush hasn't been perfect, and has done things that don't quite square with conservatives. There has been some adamant talk from the conservatives for years regarding his softness and neglect regarding illegal immigration, etc.

At least they aren't nutjobs like people who say that Bush lied about the reasons for going into Iraq.

LOL, none of them would even give Bush a job after his
presidency. Did you catch The Daily Show yesterday?
Four of Fox's people have denounced Bush.
Just gets better by the day & Bush seems to have no idea.

Um, Yes. Either that or they have actually grown testicles and see that every move Bush makes seems to be worse and worse for the country. This is exactly why an average man should NEVER be allowed to be President. I know he's from a rich family and his Dad was Prez, but if I was to sit and have a conversation w/ Bush, I would instantly be able to tell you that he is not that smart period.

Bush is NOT a Republican. I am no longer sure what that man is, but sadly, we have to deal with him for another 18 months. The reality is, none of those people are accountable to him any more than any of the dems are accountable to each other. Politics is about dirt and, as with criminals, there are NO friends and few alliances.

If Bush's administration hadn't been SO bad, if his choices had not been SO bad, if his presidency hadn't been one of, if not THE, worst in the history of this United States, I would agree 100% with your assessment of the Rep. candidates. As it stands, though, I think that even they realize that his presidency has been a disaster, and they were merely speaking the truth! (Hard as it may be to think that THEY would be "speaking the truth" about anything....)

Probably because Bush has let most of the Republicans that voted for him down-big time. Me included. He wussed out on the war, he's wussing out on illegal immigration and he's buying into the global warming bs. He is NOT a conservative.

probably because the question was asked "what is the biggest mistakes the administration has made." and all they did was admit the same things Bush has admitted multiple times.

the question is why was that question asked. answer: for todays news so the MSM can say "GOP; attacks bush" sad when you have to rely on an attempt to create subversion to push your agenda...

At least the GOP leaders seem to realize Bush is wrong. Now if only people around here could realize that instead of supporting him simply because he is the President.
