what is the best fire type pokemon in D/P?

Like the people above me mentioned, Infernape is pretty great. If you've already started your game with a different starter, though, I would reccommend probably Ponyta/Rapidash. They're in the wild quite a bit, and make a nice, solid Fire pokemon. Numel/Camerupt is nice too, but since it's dual type Fire and Ground, it's super vulnerable to Water.

Hmm, Infernape maybe. But, it would be Heatran, after the EL 4. Charizard is also a good Fire Type. But, the best, is all dependent on how you train them.

There are only about two: Ponyta and Chimchar. You dont get any more fire pokemon until after beating the pokemon leauge.

my best fire was my Infernape with fire and fighting its one power house machine, rapidash isn't bad either try those.
