I am on the Left, but, I can't stand hearing celebrities act like they are knowing. I just think we could go back to a better time, where academics and experts, were the one's making statements.

I am a Conservative, but I agree with you.
All of these Hollywood elitist that thank that they speak for anyone except themselves are crazy.
It is sad because many around the world think that these people actually speak for the majority of Americans!

I agree, academics and experts who actually study the issues and live them would be refreshing to listen too. They have something to say and to teach. Now if we could get the right wing to stop their Hollywood to stop doing the same thing. If I hear one more person say that Fred Thompson is running and will be the saviour of America, I'm gonna puke. He's nothing more than a Bush toady who is even more conservative than Bush and Cheney. He's more of the same that is dragging this country down.

I don't resent anyone, celebrity or otherwise, making their political views known.
Just because they have the ability to have their opinions disseminated to more people than the average person, doesn't mean they shouldn't express those opinions.

Yeah, I tend to lean to the left, but when I hear a stupid celebrity trying to tell me how to feel I find myself yelling at the TV. I think they actually hurt some politicians campaign. Oh well, ignore them.

I agree. I'm tired of their hogwash about save this or preserve that. Anyone who can spend a billion dollars on a house they never stay in and still have time to tell me how to live my life is full of crap.

What I'm tired of is people who allow those statements to dictate their opinions. What do I care about what Sean Penn has to say? He absolutely has the right to say it, but I have the right to disregard it...
...and I choose to exercise that right often. =P
