Need Help as a FAN Please!?!?!?

for my entire life i have been and still am a yankees fan, but this isnt about them

this is about barry zito

his rookie year the A's played the Yanks in the bronx and i was at the game. zito was long tossing and the ball came over by me in the stands he gave me the ball AND signed it for me

from that day i have always been a barry zito fan, so ive been getting A's hats to support him (im indifferent as far as the A's go)

but now he is with the SF giants

i HATEEEEEEEEEEEe barry bonds

but i wanna get a giants hat because zito is with them, but will ppl think im really a bonds supporter, because thats the last thing i want

can i get some input please?!?!/

phadrea i totally get wut ur sayin but i live on the east coast, and whenever ppl here see or hear "SF Giants" the only thing that comes to mind in bonds. its sadd but true

I see your problem. People will associate the Giants with Bonds for many years. He has soiled the team. Unless you pay for the Zito jersey, people will see Bonds.

New Era is making tons of baseball hats that represent a team, but are never worn on the field. They have a "gansta" style about them. People buy the Yankees, Braves, and Boston hats like that all the time. I never associate that they like that team because of the hat.

However in your situation, I have an idea for you. Buy the Giants hat. Then you could take it to store in your area that does embroidering. It's cheap. you could get Zito placed on the back of the hat for a couple of bucks. Then everyone would know that you are a Zito fan.

By the way, Zito has the best curve ball I've ever seen.

I am a die hard Giants fan and let me spell this out for you. The Giants are NOT BARRY BONDS!!! the Giants are one of the most storied teams in baseball history and will continue to be even after BB. He is not the Giants, the Giants are bigger than anyone 1 player ask the greatest all round ball player to ever play the game Willie Mays.

Edit: I live in philly so I know what you mean, and thats why I rock my giants gear with a jersey that has 24 on it and well none of theese so called baseball fans can even realize that its not a bonds jersey I have had fools say to me isnt bonds 25! Get the hat join my movment to teach theese fools out here that the TEAM is bigger than any 1 player even Mays.

Buy a giants hat and a jersey. on the back of the jersey cross out bonds and put zito then is number. then people will know that you like the giants but not barry bonds.

There are two ways to handle this. 1.) Get a New York Giants hat and it serves double duty. 2.) Get a Yankee jersey and have Zito put on it. bencas9900 is right, though. Tough what people think. The only ones who matter are the ones you know and you can TELL them.

Get the hat if you want. If you're walking down the street and someone sees it and thinks you like Bonds, who cares? You'll never see that person again anyway.

If it still bothers you, maybe you could get a Zito jersey instead. It will cost more but then you wouldn't have to worry about people mistaking you for a Bonds fan.
