A few friends and I are planning a trip in October to Houston, but I'm concerned about booking a stay in a hotel. The group we're planning consists of 3 seventeen year olds and 1 eighteen year old... Are there any hotels that will permit an eighteen year old to book a stay and check-in?

usually hotels will require at least the person who books the hotel to be 18 years of age. since you are 18 years old then i would suggest getting a quad room (sleeps 4). Also, suggest you book online and pay in advance. When you check in it will be important to get your group to behave in a grown up manner and avoid undue attention.

Most hotels will allow an 18 year old to book a room but I'm not sure about 4 of you in one room. I would check directly with the hotel that you're planning on staying in. I would bet that the less expensive hotel chains (La Quinta or Best Western) would be more tolerant than the nicer hotel chains (Marriott, Hilton). Good Luck!

I'm sure that some hotels would, but not most. I just booked hotel space on Hotels.com. I looked at Expedia and one other place, and they all asked if at least one person in the room was NINETEEN, not 18.
Someone else mentioned querying the hotel or chain directly. That would be your best bet. Yes, you would also need ID and a credit card in your name.

All you need is an ID and a credit card.
However you are better off making the reservation on-line, they don't ask your age that way. The hotel might have a problem with four people staying in the same room, make sure you book it that way to start with.

Some Hotels require you to be 21 and have a CC, call first to be sure.
