Ray lewis stated in an interview recently that he was in the best shape of his life. Now i am a huge fan of Ray i think that this will be his seventh or so year of saying he was in the best shape of his life. What i want to know is when you think people in NFL are in the best shape of their life?

They are usually in the best shape of their career during a contract year. Strange how a majority of players play beyond their capabilities when they will test the market at the end of the season. But yea, i feel players usually are in their best shape during the last year of their contract.

I would have to say that Ray Lewis in no longer in the prime of his career. He can still play, but he’s on the decline.
Nothing is in better shape then Ray’s ego. He keeps that thing sharp.

he's probably not in the best shape of his life but give credit to the man for going out during the offseason and putting a lot of hard work in his body to raise his muscle content and lower his % body fat. he is clearly dedicated to being the best LB he can possibly be even though he is getting older. athletes that take care of their bodies tend to have longer careers.

they are probably in the best shape coming out of college in the combine cause they work so hard for that, unless you are Lendale White, and you're fat when you show up

With most superstars, I think that they peak physically between their 3rd and 4th season.

ray lewis is washed up he does not have that edge like when he used to instill fear in players..
