I'm glad to finally hear someone say that. You have insight and common sense.
Absolutely not, radical islam doesn't respect us now, let alone if we elect a female president. We would, like you said, be asking for trouble. I believe American society is ready for a female president, but at this point it would only embolden our opponents (radical islam).
Same thing goes for Obama. Radical islam would see him as an infidel because he partly is decended from a muslim nation but is christian.
Having said that, let me ask you this; Should we elect our president based on what radical islam thinks about him or her? I don't think so, that is just handing our society over to them in telling them that they do actually control us.
Don't let radical islam win. They won't stop until they control the world, even if we leave the middle east. I believe they will follow us home.

Radical Islam respects nothing. Nothing would make them happier than to see Hillary elected. Right now with the new congress, Washington is the safest place in the world. the terrorists have never had so many people cheering for them as they have since the last election. Remember Ellison, from Minn. He right in bed with them, and by the way did you know that Mr. Obama was only raised by his natural father for less than 2 years? the rest of his formative life he lived in Indonesia where he attended the Wahhabi Muslim school. Wahhabi, is the radical from of Islam that is practiced by the terrorist who are now raging jihad against the US.

Truth be told, nobody in their right mind should care what the Islamic radicals think. How they view women has no impact on whether I elect a woman or not.
I will not let radical Muslims dictate the selection of my president.
-----
Of course, that said, I'd never vote for Hillary, but it has nothing to do with her being a woman.

No i do not believe they will. They don't respect our male presidents and I don't just mean Bush. If they had respected Clinton 9/11 would not have happened. They showed no respect for George H. W. Bush or Reagan either. They hate the West and want to destroy our way of life. They will really despise us if we elect Hillary just because she is a woman and they consider women weak and ineffectual. No matter how good a leader she may be. I don't think Hillary is a good leader by the way.

All foreigners find it easy to irresponsibly heap abuse on a white male. That is an easy target. There is no stigma attached to insulting white men. But, considering how politically correct everyone has to be nowadays, I'd like to see them try that on a black woman: Condaleezza Rice.
How are they going to insult her as they insulted Bush? She comes across great on camera. She is very articulate, extremely intelligent, capable in a wide range of fields, has unparalleled foreign policy experience, is a tough negotiator, and has a lot of common sense. Foreigners, especially the radical Islam ilk, would be hard pressed to denigrate her. It would expose them for misogynists and racists.
Condi would raise the view of women in the Middle East. Hillary would just reinforce the prejudices against women they have had there for milennia. Can you imagine a Middle Eastern country talking about giving women more rights with Hillary in office? All it would take to keep women from gaining more power is for men to point to Hillary and say, "See the kind of trouble we'd expose ourselves to if we let women control things? I would never take orders from that ..... witch".
Condi would have the opposite effect. She would be a worldwide role model for women, and raise our likeability factor practically everywhere.
In fact, having Condi as President could work wonders for the Middle East. Women there are starting to gain power, especially in places like Iran. Since the President of the United States is always in the news, it will serve as a constant reminder to Middle Easterners that a women is quite capable of running a country, in this case, the most powerful nation on earth.
That should wipe out at least a few centuries of backwards thinking.

I don't think that anyone should weigh their vote on what radical Islamists think. That's just not American. It's cowardly.
"Asking for it ?"
Radicals respect radicalism, and nothing else.
Terrorists do not respect or fear the US period....woman president or not, and they sure as hell do not respect Bush simply because he's a man.
Regardless of who becomes president, we need to rethink our strategy / policies in the middle east, and I will be casting my vote for the person who's views come closest to mine on those issues...regardless of gender.
Sadly, I do not think the US is ready for a woman president, whether be it Hillary or any woman. Too many people have prejudice about the stamina/resolve, of a woman in power. Many people whose votes and support would be needed, veiw women as emotional beings, incapable of tough choices / logic, in times of war.

I think that they would have an issue dealing with a woman President just like they did with a woman secretary of state. They do not respect the ability of woman anyway. It is much easier for men to control their environment if they keep woman in an uneducated state. We as a nation have done that for centuries.
That should not be a deciding factor in electing a president. But we would have to watch the diplomatic situations to insure that it is not an issue that they can use. Sending Ms Rice to visit Iraq and talk to the Iranian rep was a political error. It gave them and issue that they could use as an excuse.

I don't like Hillary Clinton. I think she would make Richard Nixon look like a choir boy by the time she is finished. However, if we start worrying about what other cultures feel about our choices for leader then we have lost a culture battle. Just like when the ordered our female soldiers to cover their hair and not walk around unescorted. Not for safety but for cultural concerns.
I would be more worried about other women in our culture. Islam calls our culture degenerate and after we cheer the attics of Britney, Paris, Lindsey, and Nicole they may have a point. We don't have to stone these little twits, but do we have to celebrate them in our press?

Of course they would not respect her.
I am a Republican and will not be voting for Hillary, but this should not be a reason people should not support her. What a bunch of bearded freaks out worshiping insane gods through murder and torture think should make absolutely no difference to Americans as it concerns our elections.
