Uninstall Média Player (or what you're using), then install them again, from you're Windows Vista DVD, If you still can't play cds, contact Microsoft.

Its probley becuase your CD drive, drivers arent compatable with "Vista" find out what make and model your CD drive is and email or call the company that make it and they might have a compatable driver for "Vista" if not you will have to buy another one ( Get Compaq they where the first company to change there whole pc's to make them vista compatable)
