um...go to the actual store...
For example i went TO the Coach store to get my sunglasses...so, obviously, they're not fake, you know?
...or order them directly form the retailer's website... not from crappy eBay, or wherever...!

Some of the counterfeit products from China are so good, the average person cannot tell the difference.
The best way would be to go to a quality store and look at the exact model you want. Study it carefully. Then compare it mentally with the one you are about to purchase and see if there is any difference.
High end sunglasses have high quality lenses. There is not distortion. So if the fake is a poor fake, then you can hold the lens up to a straight line in the distance and see if it looks wavy when you move the sunglasses back and forth.

usually a fake pair will appear lighter, and looks like its made out of plastic. Also you could go onto the designers website and see if the 2 match perfectly. If u want to go further, go to a store such as Solstice or Sunglass hut and they will tell u which is real and which is fake =)

Buy them from a reputable dealer such as a major department store,Sunglasses Hut or Solstice. I always find the lowest price for many brands at Sunglasses Hut. Solstice has a better selection of trendier glasses however. Best of luck

Not sure of an EASY way to tell the difference. However, a lot of the imitations aren't true polarized sunglasses which brands aside, is best for your eyes

the real way to test the lenses -- is to take a pair of glasses, break them right in half. Take lenses, put them one on top of the other and rotate one 90 degrees. and the look at the sun. At such position -- real, good lenses will not allow any light through.
ok, don't break the glasses -- just take 2 of the same kind, but the test is still the same and holds true.

Tug the frame very very gentley. If it bends much off the natrul hinge line then they are not any good. Also look at any gems or rinestones on them. If they look like they could fall off if you scape them then don't buy them.
Hope I helped.
