If this total darkness was in a room, I would be feeling the walls to find the door or a window.
So yes, there can be light, even though sometimes it's so small it can't be seen with the naked eye.

Metaphorically yes. Literally, no. I've actually been in total darkness in caves and you can't see a blessed thing in "total darkness" not even your own hand in front of your face!
