turn the tv away from the window... or use blinds or curtains

if the screen is "facing" a window i'd suggest moving your tv so that the window is behind it. this way you may get some reflections from your furniture but no the horrible glare. a flat screen also does not glare as much as a bog standard tv set.

it's pretty impossible to rid yourself of glare without moving the tv or closing curtains.

Change your viewing angle, or get a TiVo so you can watch TV later, after the Sun's gone down.

Even the anti-glare screens get some glare when the light source is in the wrong place.

allow plenty of dust to settle onto the screen, this will take time and you may have to slap the odd female wrist if you see it moving toward the TV holding a duster. but with patience you will achieve a matt finish and no glare. (This also works on computer monitors)

I heard a flat screen is the one that doesn't reflect the glare so much. But I'd suggest drawing your curtains. Only thing you can do.

Try mounting a non-reflective glass in front of the tv. They have such glass used for picture frames to reduce glare.

move house,
move the TV,
bring in your sunshade out of the garden and use it to shade your TV
make a tunnel for your TV out of a big cardboard box

Live near me - you won't see enough sun 'glare' off anything to let it worry you! :)
