Anyone know?

I was told it "cron" was the latin root of corn, that they called it cron because it took longer than some of their other crops to grow -- like chronology. I haven't been able to back up this sotry online. But the same people told me that when we started calling it corn that was a corruption of the original word root. Knowing how language develops, I can believe this. but I'd like a citation.

its a coloquliasm=pronounciation of a specific area
bostonians take out R's Park the car in the harvard yard=Paak the caa in the havaad yaad.

other places are known to add an 'r' so its distinct to your area. like way coolies, and corn makes you cheer full the bible says and I had pop corn 2 times in the last two evenings=yet this is what makes me happiest=-amazing grace I once was blind but now I see=John 3 repented of my sins asked Jesus in and got born again=prayed=

"Jesus I am sorry for my sins come into my heart and help me, be my best friend, amen."

Revelation 3:19&20 "I Jesus love you and speak from heaven to let you know that I knock on your heart door to come in and be your friend, when you repent from sin (even one lie) and ask me in."

Worked for me and keeps me happiest ever in my life, the sweet pea praying for thee, and the highest high on earth and heaven too. .

and I make popcorn with olive oil instead of putting butter on it and home pop it in pop corn kettle,
have the best ever day!

Whoever "they" are, they're somewhat demented and in bad need of speech classes. I've never heard anyone pronounce popcorn that way.
