Yes. The Braves have won every series vs the Mets this year and have 6 wins and 3 losses vs the Mets this year. That right there shows that the Braves can beat if not hang with the Mets.

Face facts the Mets are playing with backups at 3 positions, Jorge Sosa in the rotation and without Sanchez in the bullpen and they still have a 3.5 game lead. Didn't the Mets sweep the Dodgers last year in the playoffs no reason to think when Alou, Green and even Pedro get healthy anyone can beat them in the NL. Lets see how the Braves do without Jones now that's he's going to be out a prolonged period of time.

I am a Mets fan, and saw Pedro many times - certainly over the 4 year stretch he was with us. I am very surprised at how well he has done. I applaud him. he looks happy, healthy and relaxed. Last night against the Mets, he threw 130 pitches, and was "The Old Master" again, giving one more piece to the proof that he should be first-ballot Hall of Fame. I am happy for him. And just to put a little capper on the "un-said" here - even if the Mets had picked him up for these final months, AND we had signed Derek Lowe and not that head-case Oliver Perez, we would still be firmly in Fourth Place right at the moment. Things were just that crazy and absurd this season ...

If Pedro comes back and pitches like Pedro, then the Mets should be favored. And if Jennifer Lopez leaves Marc Anthony, one of us could have her. Big ifs, and I don't expect either one to happen. The Mets will most likely lose in the Division Series. They are overrated, as evidenced by their NLCS loss last year to a less talented Cardinal team.

The way the Mets pitching is so far they don't need Pedro. I think it will be great to have him back healthy, but the Mets will win anyway without him!

Sure do. The NL is loaded. The Dodgers can beat em. Heck the way the D-Backs are playing right now they could beat the Mets. The Dodgers have a loaded pithing staff. Schmidt is back , and they have the offense to boot.

Hell yea em birds (Cardinals) could, just wait till Mulder and Carpenter get back in august and Juan and Jim and Scott and Pujols have just started to get hott and now they have a better hitting catcher in Bennett since Molina's injury and just maybe the Braves if they can keep their young talent hitting the way they are now they just might

No, the Mets are already an awesome team. Insane hitting AND pitching, with another ace they would be unstoppable.
