Hey all, the titles a little wacky, but hear me out..

At the end of April, I bought some goalkeeper gloves from a shop on eBay. They have 100% positive feedback from 57 eBay members. I chose them for convinience since they live locally.

Anyway, we agreed to meet to exchange money for item, but they couldnt make it. Fair enough, I pay extra for postage and they send the gloves.

2 weeks later, nothing. I email them and they say they'll send another pair through the post, which struck me as unusual since they cost me £30.

Another couple of weeks, still nothing. I email again threatening to report the item as unsent and add some bad feedback and they say theyre waiting for 'compensation from Royal Mail', which has been the same reason since then.

Should I be smelling the bullshit here? My problem is that I trust people too much.

EDIT: I've also noticed that they aren't an eBay member anymore. Hmmmmmm.

Thanks
Tom

To whoever questioned my stupidity -

I trusted this person since he had his own eBay shop and would probably be really idiotic to jeopardize it with such an act.

So yes, I am stupid for trusting them.

Report them to Ebay first. They have methods to correct these kinds of problems. If no help, contact the Better Business Bureau.. If no help contact police. In the US mail fraud is a felony.

Sounds like you probably got taken, especially since they're suddenly not an ebay member any more.

You checked their feedback, which was the right thing to do even though it didn't turn out well.

If you have their phone number - is it still working? Can you track down their address from the phone number, and show up at their place?

You were robbed. I suggest you ger in contact with ebay asap and start a dispute over the unreceived item. Also if you went thru paypal to pay for the item, you will need to contact them as well. Good luck!!

If you paid by check, you may be able to stop payment on the check.

If you paid via PayPal or via credit card, you may be able to claim the charge as fraudulent and get your money back.

Sounds like this guy suddenly had a plethora of complaints against him and is now NARU (not a registered user).

no i don't think you will get what you ordered, you must inform ebay with what is going on . item number, sellers name, and a canceled check or reciept showing them you payed them , if you didn't get a reciept than don't bother, ebay needs proof.
