Acc 2 my WBJEE rank I would get an admission in Shibpur with IT and in IEM with Comp. Sc.

I would suggest you to go for CSE. the options for IT students are lesser compared to those in comp. sc.
With reference to the syllabus too the CS is preferable.

So give greater preference to the subject than to the college of study - during the counselling.
As a good percentage - preferably above 65- 70 % and clearing all subjects in the first attempt ( without back papers ) can make you eligible for campus recruitment in infosys, wipro, aricent, cts,ibm etc.

Comp Science is a very holistic subject and needs high aptitude and intellect apart from a good faculty.

IT is more about application of the latest computational capabilities developed by comp. science experts to provide better automation, speedier processing and better tracking of systems of companies business across the globe.

Comp. Science has the X-factor, while IT will ensure you alnd up with a white collared job.

Given your limited details I guess its better you go the IT way.

i dunnoo only btech students can answer taht. or engineers...
but i guess comp sc is more in

Both are mostly same. CS is better
