Well my city's team is the best in baseball. How can you not be a Red Sox fan?

No, my city/state doesn't have a home team. The "home team" down here would probably be the Atlanta Braves, but we are in Baltimore Orioles television broadcast territory. And, we have New York Yankees radio affiliate, so most people down here are a fan of one of those three.
There was a poll done, 12% Yankees fan, 11% Braves, 4% Orioles.
I think most people were Braves fans in the 1990's but then I'm sure some of them jumped on the Yankees bandwagon. But, I just started really getting into MLB this year, so I have yet to decide out of those three.
I might go with the Orioles since they are the least popular among the three teams.

I'm from Illinois. Growing up, all I ever heard about was the University of Illinois (typical game back then: Other team 44, UofI 3), the Bears (same score as U of I), the Cubs , and the Bulls. After having these teams crammed down my throat for all those early years, when I was 11 I discovered Mickey Mantle. No looking back, then. I was a Yankee fan. Even after a 13-year hiatus, I was a Yankee fan. And I will be again as soon as Steinbrenner dies. For now, I keep my eye on them and just follow the game.

I live in Chicago but have been a Red Sox fan my entire life...I grew up in the North East and came out here for college and just never left...but I cannot turn my back on the Red Sox. Although I do get into the Cubs a little.

I am an avid New York Yankees fan since I grew up in New Jersey about an hour outside of New York. However I am now one of the many Northeasterners who have fled to the sunny climes of Los Angeles.

I live in a city that doesn't have an MLB team (New Orleans), which is very lame, so I find teams I like from other cities, like Red Sox, or Cardinals.

I tend to support the team that was closest when I was growing up (the Pittsburgh Pirates) more than the team I live close to now (the Colorado Rockies).

I'm in Joplin, Mo. The closest team is the Royals, like I'm going to root for them. I'm originally from the Bay Area and I'm an A's fan through and through.

I'm in Northeast Arkansas and am a fan of The New York Mets. This is the age of mass media and you can get any game in America on your television.
