Recently I asked the % accuracy of earthquake prediction and was saddened to learn it is 0%. Given the track record of BIG BANG scientist accuracy should our government require them to lend a hand here and save countless lives and trillions in property damage by telling us where the next big one will be?

Totally different realm of study, the evidence is there for the big bang, but not for earthquake detection.

Not everything can be predicted, unfortunately.

Dear friend, even though I got the opportunity of alerting our local T.V.stations 2 hours before Tsunami struck our Indian coast nobody came forward to find the fact. The following incidents helped me to issue the warning.
26th Dec 2004 was a full moon day. The seismic activities will be more on that day.
The earthquake alarm designed by me sensed the earthquake wave for 12 minutes. But we have felt the physical shaking for few seconds only.
As I know the concept of Richter scale long time of warning of very small shaking should be from far away distance and the magnitude will be high.
The book why earth quakes I read during my stay in USA in the year 2002 written by Mr Bruce Bolt cautions like this. Stay away from beaches and water front areas where Tsunami could strike long after the shaking is stopped.
I explained about Tsunami in Singapore radio to the public on 20th April 2004 itself. This is evident that I was having knowledge on Tsunami much before it struck our coast.
Several scientist appreciated my inventions. Some seismologist criticized my inventions.

No!
Scientists should be able to choose what they want to research. Of course, if they are told by the company for which they work what to research then they either have to do that or quit.
If government started telling scientists what to research, there would be a flood of pressure on government officials to require scientists to research all number of things. After all, there are many, many questions that need to be answered in order to save lives.

Should the government tell you where you'll be reporting for work tomorrow?
