If a democrat president had made as many mistakes and committed as many crimes as GWB has, he would have been impeached by a republican house and convicted by a republican senate. He/she would have been haunted by the corporate media and he would have been out of office and would even lost his pension. A republican president has the support of the corporate media, so the democrats have no choice but to let him rot in office.

About the troops in Iraq.
Because we need the president to negotiate the peace and he won't. The troops will stay in Iraq until we have a new president.
How can a president negotiate the peace.?
1-Bring the Sunnis and the Shias to the table. Bring their friends to the table (Iran and Syria), bring the other middle eastern countries to the table (Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Turkey). Bring the Europeans and the UN to the table.
2- As part of the peace framework, the President announces:
The US will removed all US and US controlled troops from Iraq.
The USA will remove or abandon all military bases in Iraq.
The USA will have no designs on Iraqi oil.
3-The US will contribute together with others to the rebuilding of Iraq.
Only a President can do this and without this no peace will come.
The funds for the war can not be cut without being a part of a plan as described.
Will the Sunnis and the Shias trust Bush. I doubt it.
They may trust a democratic president.

In a presidential system such as the one constructed by the Founding Fathers, it is difficult to get rid of the incumbent president. If we had been a parliamentary system where keeping a prime minister in office can only be with support of the majority party, then President Bush would have lost his job after the Republicans lost their majority status in 2006.

So, we have a great deal of stability in the system which can be a good thing, contrasted to some countries where the government changes so frequently. But, it lends itself to situations where it's difficult to get rid of a president who has lost the support of a majority of people. The President cannot be convicted on the basis of treason or high crimes and misdemeanors. For the Democrats to try to go the impeachment route would be to squander the many gains they have achieved. Just like when the Republicans made a futile effort to get rid of President Clinton, so a similar effort would fail on the part of the Democrats. There is no 2/3 vote in the Senate to do anything, much less get rid of a president who only has a year and a half to go in office, despite mounting difficulties and challenges in Iraq and elsewhere.

Well, Chicky 20l, I believe he still should be in office until
the voters agree on a new president in the next election.
When the US is attacked by terrorists, I believe the US
president should be darned mad and make a move to
hunt them down, whether that be Iraq, Iran, or Saudia Arabia.
No one can negotiate with terrorists..they are unlike armies
from other countries. as they will use their own children to
kill anyone who does not follow their Allah. They take prisoners
and cut off their arms, feet, and other parts before they die.
The US has never ever treated prisoners or enemies in that
horrible fashion. We are still the greatest nation and it is worth
a war to keep US a nation of freedom where it's people say
and do whatever they want to do. We all should appreciate
Bush for standing up to terrorists and not burying his head in
the sand. So, watch who you vote for next time as we will some day again be teased and tricked by terrorists.

No but consider who would be pres if he's not. Mr "shoothimup" Cheney. Far worse option. Our troops are doing what they were ordered to. We as a nation have a long standing history of sticking our noses into matters that do not really concern us. (if money if involved we WILL be there tho.)

I think that if Bush were a democrat he would've already been out of office by now! I think that sooner or later Bush will have no other choice but to end the war! Then when we have the nxt election he will be out the door!

The unpleasant truth is that Bush did what a lot of Americans wanted him to. And when it became clear after the fact that Bush had lied about the threat posed by Saddam Hussein, it made no sense for those Americans to turn on him. Truth was never their major concern anyway — revenge was. And if we took revenge on the wrong person, well, better a misplaced revenge than none at all.

No way! Luckily, he can't be in office again after this term is up. Phew.
He is just so consistent with thinking he is right in everything that he does, I'm just waiting for it to all come back in his face. It is time to bring the troops home, and almost everyone can see that, but what does he do? More need to go and fight! Ugh. It is like Vietnam all over again.

Of course. I think he is a great president, only doing things for our freedom. He wants America to be free, and a very strong country.

He shouldn't have been there in the first place. Because he is still in office the next president, no matter who, is going to have a huge mess to clean up.

Our troops are in Iraq trying to finish their job (if we will let them).
President Bush is in office until his term is over.

So what is the question?
