because the spurs have more experience in the finals...this is the Cav's first time ever making it to the finals...but i think the cavs have the weapons to beat the spurs...GO CAVS!

Because the level play that a team has been displaying recently is more important than the regular season match-ups. This is not to say that the RS standings mean nothing. The Cavs can certainly take confidence from that. However the quality of basketball the Spurs have been playing in the playoffs has been generally much better than that of the Cavs.
If you were to apply just the regular season record, how do you explain the Cavs beating the Pistons, who were 3-1 against them in the RS.

Although I hope the Cavs pull off an upset, a person cannot really blame others for believing that the Spurs will win.
If the LeBrons will the title, it may be the biggest upset since 1975 when the Rick Barrys beat the Washington Bullets.
No one has won a one-man title in the NBA or old ABA other than Rick Barry (not Jordan, Iverson, Chamberlain, Oscar, Kareem, Magic, Bird, Duncan, Shaq, Kobe, or anyone else.
Rick Barry is the first and only (Jamal Wilkes was only a rookie and not an all-star and everyone else was a role player).
So if LeBron can pull it off, he will only be the second.
So people have a legit reason for believing in the Spurs, other than the obvious that they are better at every position except small forward!

Match-ups:
Guards: Spurs
Forwards: Even
Center: Even
Offense: Spurs have a more fluid offense and can play either up-tempo or half court. Clevland seems more half court oriented unless there is a fast break situation involving James. Spurs have slightly better 3-pt shooters.
Defense: Spurs are better than the Pistons. Pistons stopped the other Cavs with inconsistent defense. The Spurs play defense from tip off to final buzzer.
Bottom line: Spurs will play 48+ minutes every night. They are experienced and play better together as a team.
James will need to score 30+ a game AND get help from another player EVERY game. They will also have to stop Duncan in the low-post , Parker and Munu's penetration and the 3-pt shooting of Horry, Barry & others.
This isn't to say that Clevland can't win but the Spurs are just a better team.
Besides, if Cleveland won there will be less of an incentive to get better. They need pure shooters to compliment James, they need a real and pure PG and they need somthing better or more consistent down low.

Because the first win the cavs got was in game 2 of the season ,and everything is different in the post season. Both teams playoff records are 12-4 yes ,but the spurs ran thru denver, phoenix, and utah. The cavs ,beat a lackluster wizards team without there two best scorers, the nets and pistons. Spurs had a tougher road and have more experience and just face it cleveland hasnt won anything as a sports city since the 60s when the browns won the superbowl(64) i think, Indians have been to the world series 3 times since they won it and lost and cleveland is just a cursed city, but should be a good seires. Spurs in 7

Because the Spurs have a whole team not a player with 4 wanna be's. The problem though as the Pistons found out that one person named James and beat you. So the spurs play good defense they should win but the Cavs play good defense to. so it can go either way, I pick the cavs in 6 due the x-factor Called "King James"

Well, first off, the majority of games played in the NBA are not taken to serious( at least in the reg season), all the players and coaches know that the reg season is just to prepare for the playoffs, so all of those wins against the spurs mean nothing now.
second, the spurs are just a better team, and in the NBA playoffs, in a 7 game serious, the better team will almost always win, in order for you to beat a team 4 times out of seven you have to be better, once could be lucky, but not 4 .
I work with some NBA teams and players as a basketball performance coach and see this stuff all the time.
the bottom line, cavs defense is not good enough( who is going to guard Timmy, Parker, Mani) and they just simply do not have enough weapons. Bron will do his thing, Larry is fighting a ruptured Achilles, zeek is not going to be to consist being guarded by Timmy, and they really do not have a real bench.
and they have the most important thing when it comes to the NBA, a better coach.
hope that answers your question.

The Spurs are just too good. The only way the Cavs can win the title is if Lebron James averages 40 points a game.

Well when the cavs beat the spurs early in the season, the spurs were still learning to play w/ the new big guys (Oberto & Elson) Ginobili wasnt playing well because he was coming off an injury, and TIM DUNCAN wasnt playing for a championship, (He is now, just ask PHX and Jazz fans)
Those three problems are all solved now, and that is why the SPURS are favorites to win it all

the Spurs are a much better team plus the level of play in the Finals is way more intense than the regular season. And also the last three teams that swept their Finals opponent in the regular season ALL LOST THE FINALS.
As much as I hate to admit it the Spurs will win
