I don't mean just fat, I mean like, 700 lbs, can't get out of bed, spends hundreds of dollars a day on food. They tick me off for many reasons and I don't care if this sounds mean. For one, they overconsume when our enviroment is in trouble and there are millions of underfed, starving people in the world. Second, they don't care enough about the body that God gave them to take care of it. I mean, how much effort does it take to eat just one cheeseburger instead of five? Third, they are stealing my tax dollars to support their deadly habit. If you say they're not, then you're crazy because they don't work and they eat hundreds of dollars worth of food in a day...how else are they paying for that besides welfare, food stamps etc. Then they get medic-aid to pay for their insane health care costs.

And the thing that bothers me most about this is all the animals that are killed just so these people can poison themselves.

I don't like that they get out hard earned money through public assistance. They should have taken care of themself.

okay ! well you know what ticks me off? people like you who think they know everything and feel that they have a reason to talk about people who they don't even know! personally I'm not overweight and i don't know anyone who is, but i do know that some people can't help it! some have thyroid problems and some have other disorders! and yes some just do it to themselves, but should we look down on them for doing so , or should we try to help them get better! would you say a single mother with 4 children shouldn't get welfare? would you say people who are addicted to drugs shouldn't have agencies willing to pay for rehab? everyone has problems whether they were put there unwillingly or chose to be there, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't help them! so i just hope that if your ever in a situation when you could use someones help that you receive the same as you would give!

I've dealt with being overweight, but not close to being obese. I know that it's sometimes a vicious cycle, because you can get depressed and being depressed can lead to eating to make you feel better, I fell into that trap for a while, but I went to therapy, and got back out in the world even though I didn't want to, but I knew I had to or I would just sit and get bigger and bigger.
I made myself exercise so I could get back in shape. I want to set a good example for my son by being active. I just can't see how a person can just let themselves get to that point. It's not like the weight just shows up all at once.

I feel that if you're getting government assistance for a self inflicted illness like being morbidly obese that you should have some kind of health program that helps you lose weight.

no matter what your tax dollars go to their never gonna go to helping starving families in this country and there is alot of things i could gripe about my taxes going to but its not gonna change anything. and i beg of your pardon but at one time in my life i was reduced to being on welfare because with me working full time was still not enough to take care of my children. if there is a will there is a way and god says there is! and as far as bed ridden obese people i just hope and pray they find a way

So, do you have issues with anorexic people too? Eating disorders in any extreme are hard to deal with and you should think about that. You are lucky because you don't have any issues with your eating habits, but for other people it is just hard and both ends of the spectrum (being extremely obese or thin) are just not normal and people do not enjoy doing it, they suffer every second. Don't think they do it on purpose, if you knew more about human physiology you would understand how the brain works, how neurotransmitters work and how some people have unbalances on those substances.

I had anorexia and I understand how eating disorders are bad and really hard to deal with.

I wouldn't say tick me off so much as I feel like they could give a bit more effort towards the losing the weight. I watched a special over the weekend and for those I saw it was like they had given up.

it's sad when people will embrace a drug addict or alcoholic because they have a "problem" and don't get me wrong they do, but a person that weighs that much has a problem also. Regardless of what the addiction is, it is still an illness. I think that you need to think before you speak and see someone about your addiction to judge others.

No, they don't tick me off. I mostly wonder why they let themselves get that way. It is evidently eating disorders, but I think they should have gotten help before it was completely out of control. I feel sorry for them.

I definetly agree with you on the animal part,I swear,I was watching this program called "I eat 33,000 calories a day" on TLC and this guy ate like a whole chicken,a rack of ribs,a couple steaks,a couple of hamburgers, etc. it is sickening to see that. They went to an obesity clinic to get help, but alot of them still ordered in fast food and had it delivered to them.

No, they don't make me mad at all. I feel bad for them. And as far as your tax dollars paying for them goes, you only pay a few cents out of your check that goes towards public assistance. Wow, they are really breaking the bank on you, aren't they? But you know what DOES tick me off? People like you who think they support everyone who needs assistance because you pay taxes. Hey, fuckhole, we all pay taxes. Deal with it and shut up.
