I think that is why originally polling and surveying was against the guidelines of Yahoo! answers. But people kept doing it........ and kept doing....... and violations were going so crazy, that they finally broke down and made a category JUST for opinions. thus.... P&S.

But if you go to other categories....... they are a little more advice / factual type answers. Well..... that's not true. I've been to the sports category and MAN that is filled with opinions. Come to think of it........ so is R&S. Hmmmmmm....... ok on second thought..... you are right. lol This should be Yahoo! Answers and Opinions!

Y=Your
A=Answering
H=Home where
O=Opinions are
O=Offered!

Wow, I never thought of that before. I guess Yahoo wants "answers" instead of "opinions" because people trust "answers" more and are more likely to make Yahoo accounts and view Yahoo advertising and get money for Yahoo if they trust the site more.

But now that I think about it, opinions is probably more appropriate.

In a way, Yahoo! Questions 4 Advice.

It should be.

People will insist in asking loaded questions though, where only an opinion can be given.

If people stuck to asking questions like...
what is the capital of Ireland
or
how many feet in a mile, then it would be different.

All said though, to find stuff like that out, it would be easier and quicker to search yourself.

YES! They need to just accept the fact that Answers has morphed into a strange social thingie and stop trying to make it something that it's not. Although then we wouldn't have the thrill of "breakin' the rules" and that's no fun...

No, its just the fact that a lot of people that answer are stupid and they give opinions instead of facts. Yahoo answers was originally meant for fact kind of questions and not opinion kind of questions.

I believe it should because although some answers are factual and definitive, there really is no way of telling if they truly are right or not - meaning you will most likely have to research your own question.
