It wasn't public. It was a mouthpiece of the extreme right wing in Venezuela. It's the same right wing that tried to overthrow Chavez in a coup with the help of the U.S and against the wishes of the people. That television station has been known to lie about the people and the marches in favor of Chavez. They are 100 times worse than FOX in that they actually tried to create the news and create a coup. It wasn't a free press. If it was a public t.v station, it would have had all kinds of points of view represented just like our PBS and NPR does. It was a public t.v station with only one point of view and that was of the right wing.

By 'liberal media,' do you mean:

Fox news,
TV evangelists like Robertson or the late, unlamented Falwell,
most AM talk radio,
NY Post,
Washington Times,
Lush Limbaugh, Coulter, Hannity et al
many other examples of right biased media

Much of the rest of the world regards the US media as rather conservative.

I'm assuming you're referring to CNN, since so many right-wingers like to claim it's got a liberal bias. If that's the case, you should know that they have already covered the closing of the TV station in Venezuela.

Do you want to promote him? That is what giving him coverage does. Not to mention I have seen stories about him on CNN, MSNBC, FOX, you name the network and I have seen it. So why is it that I can watch this but you can't? Or do you just like to spew hate...that is my guess... maybe Hugo should censor you and take away your license...

1ST how is what Chavez doing any of our business? 2ND If the citizens have problems with how he is governing then they will take care of it. Many of you talk about not wanting a "nanny" government yet think we should be sticking our noses into what other sovereign countries are doing.
