God save us! Well, the media would have us think that. But I think today's youth is no different from past generations. They have challenges and problems to over come. They have to deal with peer pressure the same and parents too. The only thing that I fear is that they have too much too soon. But, hopefully like past generations they will learn and exercise responsibility and know that getting a good education is very important. There are many more opportunities today and I see young people taking advantage of some those things. I think I might be OK in my old age with these youngsters watching over me.

Not much different. Yahoo Answers is a terrible example of today's generation's mind set. The questions are all asked. There doesn't seem to be valid reason to even spend your time on here, and yet here I am.

Some questions and answers are very good but some are not. I am very surprised at the vulgar ones but I guess this is the culture they grew up in. I can usually tell the younger ones from the older ones without reading their Avatar summaries (if any).

The more things change, the more they stay the same.
Does he love me?
How can I show him I'm interested?
OMG I'm pregnant!
I got drunk last night and.....
A little less interested in some things, like peace and love, and a little more self-directed, but nothing major. More cynical, less trusting. Our generation had Viet Nam, and civil rights and women's rights, the draft, big things with big ideas. Things that got you to be concerned with things outside yourself and your self interest. This generation hasn't got that, their only problem seems to be the split between what they have come to see as what they are entitled to and what they can afford. They may grow up to feel cheated and lost, I think each generation needs the kind of idealism we had, even if we lost it as we aged.

I am a child of the 60's and early 70's. I wouldn't want to be a kid today for anything. I feel they have to contend with so much more nasty stuff than I did. I think kids today have it tougher in certain ways and easier in others.

I don't think you judge a whole generation from what you see on one forum. Our parents said the same about us. Kids are kids...They're immature. Some of the stuff might be true, but I'd be willing to bet that alot of it is made up, just for them to get a kick out of it.

I think that they have the same problems, hopes, fears, and dreams that we had when we were growing up. The only difference is that they have a bit better access to information and a few more communication tools at their disposal.

1.No idea of what real music is
2.A lot of bad spelling
3.Lots of silly questions like what hairstyle suits me and boohoo my bf left me.
4.A fair bit of neocon propaganda but thats not coming from the kids, my concern is that the kids are gonna start believing that crap coz they dont know any better.

Other than that I enjoy trying to help out the youngsters if Im able. Us old coots have been around ya know, weve been there done most of it before.
