Legally, there is nothing you can do to a new bike's engine or pipes since 2006. That's why HD is not making the Sportster after 2007 because it can't make EPA regulations without shooting the cost through the roof. If you do mod the bike, the EPA secret motorcycle police will show up at your door and arrest you after impounding your bike. But, I say to h*ll with them, go ahead and spend hundreds or thousands of dollars on accessories that will land you in jail with big fines...I'm kind of a daredevil that way. AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

There is only so much you can do with the rear tire w/o a big deal . The 180 + rear tire requires swing arm and primary drive modifications.
Exhaust and re-map, if you are inclined ,the big inch kit, seat and bars are a good idea, you can make your bike fit you like an old pair of 501's.
Look at other Dyna's when you're out and you'll get more ideas.
I am a suspension fanatic and don't really like stock shocks, consider a set of Works Performance shocks.
An oil cooler ,especially if you are going to do engine mods.
And how about a good lock, alarm or maybe lo jack.

For a HD FXDL I would suggest new pipes, maybe Vance and Hines or Jardine if you can afford it. Definitely a K & N filter. Power commander ignition would help that thing. I would also look at a big tire kit to maybe a 240.
Lets face it, its never going to be a hot rod, but it will improve performance.

If you're riding anywhere outside the city limits, get a windshield and some saddlebags. If you plan to carry a passenger, get a better seat and a sissybar. If it's cold most of the year where you live, get heated grips. If you just want it to look better, get the chrome engine kit. For pipes, I recommend Bub's Jug Huggers, look and sound great.

Get a Yamaha Road Warrior, instead. It has cool exhausts, fat tire and needs no engine tweak. Use the money you save to upgrade your pillion.
