I'm interested in putting my savings in an online bank for higher yields. Does anyone have any experience with these and what has been your results thus far?

I've got ING...they're pretty good...no min's...extra 25.00 to sign up which starts accruing int right away at 4.5%...

there are higher yields and bonus pays out there but, it's safe and FDIC insured up to 100k...

citi has one too, that pays 50.00 and 4.65

Yes, ING is great. Great rates. Easy to signup. Lots of nice tools and info as well. Their online interface is very easy to use and understand. You should signup today, you'll get $25 put into your account for free if you use the link below.

No clue on Tiger Direct other than they are a major direct online retailer of computer electronic items. They are not a bank so I'm not sure what they have to do with ING.

I've had an ING account as well as an Emigrant Direct account. My experience was good wtih both though Emigrant's rates have always been better than ING which is why I made the switch. Currently ING has an APY of 4.5% while Emigrant Direct's APY is 5.05%.

Other than rates, both are comparable and great.

I have two online savings accounts. One with ING and one with HSBC.

While the HSBC pays a slightly higher rate, the ING account is much easier to use and, while HSBC doesn't post payments until almost a week has past, ING posts them right away.

So, overall, I am very pleased with my ING account.

Well, Tiger Direct isn't a bank, but if you want computer equipment at a fair price, they are decent. I got a great digital video camera there.

On topic though, I haven't used ING, but I have used the TD Waterhouse banking aspect of their brokerage. Online banks are just as reliable as a brick and morter bank. The fall under the same federal laws and have the same FDIC insurance as well.

Feel secure in using them.
