I'd take you to a baseball game, pay the jumbotron guy a 50, have him show us sitting next to eachother, while it says underneath...

Depending the reason, but generally one should face the person and be honest. I would just say something like "I need to talk to you, I've been thinking about our relationship and come to realize that I'm not happy with you. We don't bring out the best in each other and I don't see the point in continuing a relationship if I'm feeling this way. My happiness is important to me and I hope you understand. You are a great friend and that's all I feel you are to me"

I'd call you, set up a meeting, make sure we're face to face and explain to you why i want to break-up, example: lack of communication,no chemistry,our families clash,I don't appreciate you shitting on the salad bar at wendy's on our first date, the fact that you're a dog rapist or because I think I need to be single because I'm not ready for a "committed" relationship.

I would cook your favorite meal, do all the things you like for me to do to and for you. Then after you were satisfied and sleepy, I'd tell you to get ya stuff, get out and never come back.
