Whats going to happen if Iran blows up Israel off the map?

Considering the rhetoric emanating out of Iran, one could predict this course of action. I would be shocked if forces behind the scenes didn't act at that point to stop the mullahs from this madness. What we forget, and they should not, is that Israel has the bomb too, although it has not made such a public declaration. I still think most political and military forces understand that an attack on Israel would mean a full assault on Iran. What an act of monumental stupidity.

Remember also, that there are many thousands of Israeli ARABS (yes, they are Israeli (and not Palestinian), but no they are not Jewish. They too would perish. Perhaps Persian Iran would not care if so many Arabs would die, but I think differently. Iran would forever be a pariah state. Instead, I believe Iran will continue to do what they have been doing and that is funding groups such as Hamas to act as surrogates for Iran and do damage to Israel that way.

What is surprising is the level of ferocity that the Lebanese Army is going after these terrorist groups. After decades of cowardly hiding behind Palestinians in these God awful crappy refugee camps, the Lebanese government is tired of having these rogue elements acting on their soil. Jordan kicked them out in the 1970's. Because Lebanon has been so weak, they have virtually allowed the refugees, but more importantly these fighters, to do their work from Lebanese soil.

Cooler heads need to prevail. Perhaps if Iranian President Ahmadinejad fulfilled his campaign objective of tending more to the economic situation, the Iranian people would be better off. But, that is how these governments operate. They rail about a political issue or hatred for Israel, which unites most elements in the country, but then they end up failing to do an adequate job of governing the country. Easy to ***** and hurl vindictive accusations--tougher to project an aura of confidence and actually run a country competently.

And yes, Iran will have weapons very soon since Bush and Putin are arguing over the missile defense system, Russia will be obligated to even things up by secretly selling longer range weapons to Iran.

Once this happens, things will deteriorate and move very rapidly into major combat and WW III
