I would say Vince Young. He had a really good rookie campaign, and I think he is going to come back even stronger this year.

define breakout, because some people (for some reason) have completely different definitions. to me, it's having a great season, but it's also having an unexpected great season that surprises. I choose Steve McNair. He came to the ravens at the last minute, didn't know the playbook, didn't know the plays of verbiage well and had to start the season right away. Still he played well enough to carry them into the playoffs and a 13-3 record. He made the pro-bowl but gave his spot to the qb he trained: vince young. He and the coach have created a playbook that they both know well and this time he has the the whole offseason to practice, so if he did decent last yr, imagine how well he will do this year (if the line shows up every game to protect him that is).

Matt Leinhart will have a breakout season because of the players that are around him and the downhill running style that Kenny Wiz and Russ Grimm will bring to the Cards will really open up the outside for Fitz and Bolden.

But if I were just picking my fav. it would be Big Ben in Pitt with the new spread offense and hurry up style that is being brought in by the new offensive coordinator. All that should give Ben the oppertunity to make plays that suits his style of passing rather than hand off hand off 5 yard pass.

Charlie Frye in Cleveland. Brady Quinn won't start right away because they'll likely try to ease him into the starting role, similiar to what San Diego did with Philip Rivers. I see Frye improving greatly to hold off Quinn for at least this season in the same way that Drew Brees broke out with San Diego. He's got Kellen Winslow and Braylon Edwards to throw to, Jamal Lewis running, and a much improved O-line so everything is set up for a breakout year for Frye (another one of those MAC quarterbacks like Pennington and Roethlisberger)

Jay Cutler. I know this because he was always consistant. He also has the best coach who helped out a lot of quarterbacks who made it in the HOF. He also as a great supporting cast. Javon Walker ,Rod Smith ,Brandon Marshall who is going to have a breakout year, Tony Scheffler he had 5 of Cutler's 9 touchdowns, Travis Henry, and Daniel Graham.

Matt Lienert and Jay Cutler come immediately to mind...both have some NFL game experience now, as well as great supporting casts. However, the underdog pick is Aaron Rogers, after Brett Favre gets knocked on his *** and out of a game for the first time in his career, come in and makes the Acme Meat Packers 'his' team.

Drew Stanton. Already proved his physical skills over his college career including winning MVP for the Senior Bowl. He won't have the reigns at the beginning of the season, but when he does take over for the aging Jon Kitna, he will throwing to Roy Williams and Calvin Johnson. He doesn't have a great offensive line, but he has decent speed to make up for it.

Jay Culter - will take the Broncos into the playoffs and win at least a game or two. 3,500 yds 20 TDs 12 ints. Won't quite make the Pro Bowl because of his stats, but record will be 10-6.

I don't care who your a fan of but you have to select Manning for this question. They are the best offensive unit to ever walk onto a football field. Nobody else in the league except Brady has that much talent. The best ever duo of quarterbacks. History is in the making so enjoy it while it lasts!!!!!!!!!!!
