That is, is all knowledge attainable? (Eventually?)

I would like to give you an example of an unanswerable question, but I'm afraid that I do not believe that there is such a thing as a completely unanswerable question.

This is not because such difficult questions do not exist, but rather because of the limitless fecundity of the human imagination. Take a look around here, for example. You could ask just about any question you like and fairly easily collect a dozen answers.

Some of the answers will be satisfying but completely untrue. Some will be absolutely true but that truth will not be for everyone. And some answers will appear to have nothing to do with anything, but upon inspection will actually cleverly reveal the true heart of the question you didn't ask but meant to.

I suspect that you will find this answer, for example, somewhat unsatisfying. And possibly untrue. BUT it IS an answer.

This hints also at the answer to your second question. If the answers you get are not always the answers you are looking for, then it seems likely that there are answers you can look for as long as you like and never find.

This is confirmed by physicists. At the smallest level, it is COMPLETELY IMPOSSIBLE to simultaneously have certain kinds of knowledge (that would be Heisenberg's Uncertainty Principle). We can even go further than that... Godel proved logically that it is impossible for any logic- based system of knowledge to be able to correctly answer EVERY question.

So no. You can't have all the answers, nor will any means of getting all the answers work. Or at least, no REASONABLE means will work. If you're willing to be unreasonable, the sky's the limit! Heh.

Two different questions.

Do all questions have answers? Yes. Sometimes the answer is "I don't know."

Is all knowledge attainable? No. It's a commonly held belief that all answers lead to more questions. If that's the case, then every time you find an answer, at least one new question comes about. Therefore it would not be possible to answer all questions… and given this answer to your question, I’ll wager you have some new questions about it!

I rest my case.

Answers, yes. Correct answers - that's a different story. While we have the ability to generate a question who's scope exceeds the limits of our knowledge, the time in which we have to answer them is finite. Human existence and the universe itself will end, and our ability to answer questions will likely end before some can be answered with any reasonable degree of certainty.

No not all questions have absolute answers . Then there are questions that are retorical (not meant to be answered) For example if I asked a military man "Do you think that the American military will be using a nuclear device in our future war with North Korea?" He could not answer me if he said yes he would risk the possibility of me telling NATO and that would cause tension but if he says no I could tell other people and they would panic because they don't feel safe.

Not if you ask my brother- there is always a rebuttal with another question.

All knowledge is not attainable- the universe is too vast to have knowledge about it all.

If all knowledge were attainable, what would you have left to seek?

I question the answers to your question about answers. So to answer your question, my answer is that there are always questions that arise from whatever answer you have for the question. This is unquestionable but does create the possibility of more answers. Which lead to more questions. And answers.

Hopefully this answers your question about answers. If not remember this: the wisest people in the world know they do not have all the answers.
