I was on it for 5 years...
weight gain, headaches..No sex drive...My period did stop, but I had breakthrough bleeding when it got close to time to get the next shot. I was sometimes tired...
It is NOT dangerous to don't have your period every month..there is even a new pill to keep you from getting it, as well as a birth control where you only bleed like every three months.
The biggest thing is the depo sucks the calcium from your bones, and you are at a much higher risk for osteoperosis, so take a calcium supplement.
If you are having negative side effects, talk to your doctor about different options...there are so many out there.
I currently use Mirena (IUD) and I love it.

I certainly have in simple terms gotten off the shot and it incredibly is a great relief. I have been given one era throughout the three months, which replaced into extremely nerve wrecking. I additionally gained some weight and from what I certainly have heard different women income 10-30 pounds. It provides some women extreme temper swings, alongside with mysleft, which my boyfriend hated. The worst result i think of is that it may reason infertillity later on in life. i in my opinion recomend unlikely on the shot, besides the certainty that it incredibly is extremely effective and there is no longer something to be confident to take, the facet effects are undesirable and that i havn't met all and assorted who's enjoyed depo.

I would get off the shot asap. There are so many negative things with the shot I'm appalled its still on the market. There are also several class action lawsuits again Pfizer for what this shot does to women!
I was on it for four years and am so glad I got off of it. I am on Kariva and sooo much happier and NO side affects!

it stops you from getting a period all together for 3 months. my doctor told me it was very unhealthy not to bleed at all for months at a time. If you are concerned, you should see your doctor again to make sure everything is the way it should be.
