Is it possible that the blood work was done too early to detect? I would be almost 6 weeks if I am pregnant. This would be my third child, so I am pretty aware of how this all goes. Just curious if anyone else has had a negative blood test only to find out later that they are pregnant?

I think it could very well be possible as I think that could have been what happened to me with my first... Although with my second child I took a home pregnancy test( because I had to have a CT SCAN on my tummy the next day and the results for the blood test the doctor gave me wasn't in yet..) and it came back negitive so the next day I went and got the test done.. then about a week later the doctor called me and told me that I WAS pregnant.. and that I was only about 2 weeks pregnant when the test was taken.

Blood tests can detect ANY amount of Hcg...the only way it's possible is if you had the blood test prior to implantation. Implantation is required for the production of hcg.

If that happened, yes, you could be pregnant. False positives are not common and a pee test is much less sensitive than a blood test.

I'd get back into your doc for another blood test!

Well a faint line is a positive result, but it being faint means you are still very early. The blood test being done last week was probably done too early.
