it is more likely to make the news than any other person of any race.

With out a trace, the CBS show, had an episode that dealt with this same kind of thing. Two kids a black boy and a white girl went missing. All but the black agent was assigned to work the case of the white girl and the media wouldnt cover the disapperence of the black boy. Why is that? Shouldnt everyones life be viewed as equal?

baby7k,

When Elizabeth Smart went missing, their had to have been at least 100 other kids of all races that went missing as well, why was she the only one getting national coverage.

People keep referring to With out a Trace episode, that was just an example. And I am more then sure that the writer's wrote that to prove a point.

I don't know, and further more have you noticed that they are usually blonde haired blue eyed. Like Jon Benet, Madeleine McCann or the holloway girl. But kidnappings of other girls often go under reported on the media. An above poster said that whites are the most likely to get kidnapped, but I beg to differ, has anyone heard about Phylicia Moore who was kidnapped while on a school trip in ghana, this happened right after natalie holloway but yet it was passed up by news crew who according to her parents felt "it wouldn't be a story american's could identify with". or what about Tamika Huston who was kidnapped and after her parents were turned down by news agencies had to take matters into their own hands and distribute flyers and set up a website to provide the media attention. It's sad how this country can let certain people fall through the cracks.

Because a white woman pulls at the heartstrings and makes you feel sympathetic so it gets better ratings and news agencies are all about ratings.

There is a counter to this though which will make you feel good and provide you with a feeling that the news agencies aren't nearly as racist as they seem.... just incredibly UNBALANCED.

Channon Christian and her boyfriend Christopher Newsom were out for a date in January 2007 when the couple were carjacked, brutally tortured, and raped before being murdered and dumped. Christopher was bound, stripped, and raped. While he was still alive his penis was cut off, then he was shot, and finally set on fire all while his girlfriend was made to watch. His body was dumped by a set of railroad tracks. Channon was kept alive and gang-raped repeatedly over the next four days. Her breasts were cut from her body while she was still alive, her mouth was sprayed with a bleach to remove DNA evidence, and finally she was killed and left to rot in a trash can.

The group that took these two were black and therefore the story got ALMOST NO AIRPLAY because producers felt it wasn't good typecasting of blacks.

Because white women are almost always abducted by white men.... they are covered on the news. $50 says that if the abductor turns out to be a black guy... the story will be dropped like a hot potato.

With regard to Katrina.... the "president" didn't make a decision based on how many black people were in the area... he made the decision not to intervene with federal assistance due to the fact that the GOVERNOR of the state refused his assistance. According to the Posse Comitatus Act, any federal assistance MUST be approved by the head government official of the state or it is considered an invasion.... this is why military personnel have specific training areas and are not allowed en masse off of a military installation.

In order to suspend Posse Comitatus, the president must have a request from that states governor. The LA governor refused this assistance ON TAPE.... look it up.

Good question, one that made the media about a year ago when there was a couple of white girls missing and made the news while a black girl missing did not.

Possible reasons...
1. the most common thought is that the media is run for the most part by white people so they tend to report on this.

2. Ratings, ratings, ratings. lets face it, ratings is why the news report what they report. the theory here is that missing white girls brings in better ratings because other races don't watch the news as much.

3. white girls are kidnapped, raped, killed or sold in to slavery at an alarming rate, more so than other races.

Keep in mind these are only theories and not fact based reasons.

That's because "whites" would do anything to protect their race. Americans call groups of other ethincity "minorities" when we all know that is false. So they will do anything to keep the white race at a level that will keep them ahead. So in other words when you have murders, disapperances, or anything to do with us "majorities" they will act as though they care but behind the scenes are doing nothing about it. Yes everyone should be treated equal. But not according to their rules, only when it is benefical for them will they put an so-called effort to worry about our well being. Kanye West said it best during Katrina. Bush knew about katrina yet did absolutly nothing because it was going to hit prodamintaly black areas. Let it have been Texas...we would have known about it a week in advance.

Because white people represent over 60% of the US population. People of all races tend to identify with people of their own race. In China if a white kid went missing you wouldn't see that on the news either.

Plus your talking about a TV show, not real life. Most of the time it is white people that go missing. Partly because whites are over 60% of the population. All the other races are hovering around the 15% mark. So if someone goes missing theres only a 15% chance their black, 15% spanish, 15% asain, but 60% white.

Well, unfortunatley that is the way today's society is!! I guess people still see "white" as the majority and better race. In my area you have so many people other than white's who are running crazy and are always on the news for breaking the law, killing, drugs and so on. I guess thats just the way the media portrays them. its sad that other ethnic groups think that the whites owe them somethng but in all truth we are all equal and have the same things in the world that we can attain--you just have to put forth the effort and break the invisible barrier that seems to hold some folks back "in past years"

That is just strictly my "Opinion" tho!!

Because unfortunatly there are there are many people in this world that have diffrent view. Some people are racist and don't care how the public views them. Also sometimes they have diffrent clues for diffrent people. Maybe they knew the white girl was alive but had clues the black boy was dead. who knows?

White women in particular, based on the societal cult of middle-class femininity, are perceived to be more innocent and vulnerable than others while their attackers must, by matter of course, but more monstrous than any other kidnapper. While none of these things are true in fact, they certainly play to the stories people tell themselves, through film and other media, about themselves and one another.

i've got questioned this too Deeya. Peace be upon little Caylee, Haylee and the different Haylee (weird and wonderful huh?) and that i think the soreness of the kinfolk. nevertheless, such as you pronounced- there are different toddlers lacking each and on a daily basis. no coverage on the information. i became into thinking if it has to do with funds. Does the media conceal wealthy families dillemas the main? a number of those people are drawing their low value expenses to seek. Like that lady lacking in Auruba- i think of her mom spent like a hundred,000 in seek and coverage. i could desire to be incorrect although. it incredibly is tremendously tousled. a splash lady disappeared out right here-(minority) the babysitter pronounced she got here into aim together with her, yet that somebody took her. They performed the tapes and he or she in no way had the little lady together with her. the information coated it a pair of times- and we in no way heard something.

I believe that is not really a race issue, but a bandwagon issue. People are scared to be different, so most (who get **** from their higher ups) play it safe and stick with the norm. But questions like you just asked is what will make this world a better place. My hat is off to you.
