Getting the job done! as President of the USA..
In one of my favorites movies *A Bronx Tale* with De-Niro .A statment made to Sonny by *C* Cologeo when he asks him *Is it better to be feared or loved*? Sonny said for me, I would rather be feared, fear lasts longer-Well as leader of a Nation I agree with that statement! and Fred has the power from what we know thus far to commmand that and take action from those who might want to challenge the USA, just like Ronald Reagan, The Middle East does not RESPECT women in the first place that is why Condi has no impact as well as Hillary being a joke to the entire Middle East Region, even though they are proably hoping she will win.
Edwards tries to exude a presence of power and authority but is wishy washy at best and looks like a Ken Doll from the Barbie Collection. Tree-huuging hippie Kusinich is laugable and at best Biden might do well but is caught up in the melee of Bush Bashers.
Thoughts?

Fred Thomspson indeed exudes an aura of authority. He has been playing the role of president recently, and many of his acting roles convey the impression of a man on top of things and fully engaged and in charge.
His critics say he lacks the fire in the belly and doesn't really have an agenda. Or perhaps it's because he doesn't rally believe in government doing a lot of things. Rather, instead he talks about minimal government and empowering individuals to do more of what they know needs to be done and works for them in their own lives. The last time we had somebody who fit that bill was another former Hollywood actor--and as I recall, he ended up serving two terms in office as president.
I do wonder about his health--non Hodgkin's lymphoma. I wonder what that impact might have among the electorate as a whole. But, if impression is what matters most in this field of candidates, it's hard to beat Fred Thompson. We'll know soon if his ideas dovetail with more of the Republican Party as a whole. I wish he would decide to enter or not--and participate in the debates so that we we could see how his ideas differ from that of his competitors within the party.

We need a leader who has solutions to real problems, not another TV character who ficticiously fixes them. The Republicans are quite clever by going to Hollywood to find someone who portrays a visual image, that way they get a candidate who looks good whithout having to reveal what their true intentions are behind the scenes. Reagan was a master of that. What we saw of Reagan was all visual and little subtance, and thus began the dumbing down of America. Fred Thompson is just the next act. Authenticity is what's in order for this country. The election of a woman in American would do more for women in the Middle East and last alot longer than that fear you adhere to.

When I see Fred Thompson, I see an actor. I remember the last president who was an actor and I shudder to think that eight years of support for psychopathic dictators and terrorists might happen again.

Fred Thompson is a loser. He will not win the Presidency, and I hope he doesn't win the GOP nomination.
He's skipping debates so people won't find out his weaknesses, and that's lame. Cowardly.
I could debate Fred Thompson and I'm not even a lawyer or an actor.
He has no chance.

You realize he's an actor and that he often palys a "No Nonsense" charcter on shows like law and order, etc.
I'd like to hear his policies before making any judgement on his character.

I hate myself for admitting this "BUT" I like Fred Thompson. I'm not a republican but I just like the man. And guess what? I would vote for him. Gee! Why am I like that? The man is great! What is wrong with me?

The main thing that would keep me from considering voting for him, is this enthusiastic support for him from some of the far right conservatives, who I've learned not to trust. That tells me right there that all is not right with the man.

Fred Thompson in 08! He is respected and honest. He has stayed above the political fray and seems to have integrity. He has my vote. He is sensible and down to earth.
