This question can be for both men and women. However, it seems that I often hear more tales of women doing revenge cheating than men do.
FYI, If I had a girlfriend or wife cheated who on me, that would be the end of it for me, period, and I would not play into such a ridiculous game.

For the record: I would never cheat. I'd just say it's over and move on, instead. I have never cheated and I do not have a wife of girlfriend at this point in time.

I agree with you.. i wouldn't play a ridiculous game. besides it causes more problems then it solves. If my man cheated on me that would be the end of our relationship... simple

First let me say that I was like the others who had posted on this issue, until my wife cheated on me.
Reason goes out the window. After I found out she had cheated ( with several different men it turns out) I felt horrible and with little self worth - after all something must have been wrong with me for her to do that. I also was hurt and angry. I did not set out to respond by revenge cheating on her - but I did start to look to a female coworker who was kind and sweet to give me some feeling of worth. I started flirting with her and she flirted back and after about a week of this yada yada yada I had cheated on my wife with the coworker. I regret doing it because things soured with the coworker(she wanted me to leave the wife for her) and I was still in love with my wife and I wanted to try to make it work still. So I think you may find reason taking a back seat to emotions when you are cheated on.

no i wouldn't b/c two wrongs don't make a right. the reason for revenge cheating is b/c most times women will take the man back but men wouldn't give women a second chance b/c their egos can't handle it but they expect it from us w/o a second thought. but all is does it make you have a worse reputation and guilt. be a better person and not seek revenge. just get a divorce. it's less taxing morally and spiritually.

No.
How could anyone say anything about their spouse cheating if they did the same thing? Furthermore, why would one want to drag themselves down to the same level?
For the lips of an adulteress drip honey, and her speech is smoother than oil; but in the end she is bitter as gall, sharp as a double-edged sword. Her feet go down to death, her steps lead straight to the grave. She gives no thought to the way of life; her paths are crooked, but she knows it not.

Getting revenge on someone because they cheated on you would not solve anything. It would most likely make things worse instead of being able to solve the problem and then to move on.

If my husband cheated on me I would be extremely crushed and angry but I would not cheat on him for revenge but I can promise you this. He would never cheat on me again because he would be taking his sorry *** and moving on and then he would realize what it feels to have a broken heart because He would never get the chance make it up to me. I do not tolerate that. Its me and me only or its time for you to go away.

How ridiculous can a free pass for outside sex be?
Of course I understand your point and I would probably walk away too, but somehow the fact of getting even just eases the burden of being hurt.

As soon as a spouse cheated on me I wouldn't care a cent about him anymore. I wouldn't waste a minute of my time plotting any revenge on the guy.

Do you honestly think that if you go out & do the same thing she did is going to validate you or even make like you have gotten "even"? Live your life well. That's the best revenge. Real Love will find you again, trust me!!

No, don't waste your time or lower yourself to such. If the relationship is worth saving, confront, heal, forgive....if not move on keep the moral high ground.
