You are comparing Apples to Oranges.. really ...
Ford Explorers are the highest selling, hence most popular, SUV out there (at one time Ford sold double the numbers of Explorers than any other SUV on an annual basis). it is basically built on a Ford Ranger 4x4 chassis. The Explorer are very nice and most people that have them love them (but with any vehicle that has that many on the road there are some that break down and some detractors). They are nice roomy, but they do not get great gas mileage if that is a consideration. Also since there are SO many of them on the road the resale values may be lower.
A Yukon is actually a LARGER vehicle than a Ford Explorer. (It is build on the GM chassis equivalent of a Ford F150 Pickup so a Yukon should be compared to a Ford Expedition which is built on F150 chassis). Yukons are nice but get even worse gas mileage, etc. They have high resale values because they are build in smaller numbers, etc.

what are you asking about them? one is a midsize suv the other is full size. they are both NICE vehicles. the Explorer is cheaper and will last just as long and most likely go more places than the yukon. if you are using them for off road that is. the explorere is more "athletic" than the yukon too. ford has REALLY stepped in up in terms of quality and comfort. hence the reason their cars are getting 4 and 5 star ratings and are being called cars of the year. such as the ford five hundred and the ford focus and the ford fusion. my brother has a 2004 explorer and it is a GREAT vehicle. quiet, comfortable and reliable. gets better gas mileage than a yukon too. but hope this helps! good luck

Yukon,,my two cents. More space. I do not agree on Ford quality being bad, but like the larger size. Mileage on the new Six speeds is very good for large truck.
Good Luck

both aren't great, but if you have to choose between, choose yukon. fords are known to be crap, my uncle just bought a ford, broke down in less than 2 weeks.

definetly the yukon, parts are easier to find, and cheaper, and their transmissions are much stronger. GM products are your best bet.

NOT the Ford Exploder.
Ever been to a junk yard?
There are ten times the Fords, as there are GMs.
That's a clue.

We looked at both.
We ended up getting a Land Rover - it was cheaper, and a LOT nicer!
