Any other time it is fine. We had to put a new transmission in it when we got it because the pump went out that was 8 years ago. It does pick up and take off cause I can drive it.

Sounds like your past due for a filter and fluid change on that tranny. I would seriously have that done now before you do damage to the pump in the tranny. because it sounds like its ''slipping'' when you corner and when you give it some gas its hesitating because its ''slipping''.

yeah its definetly the transmission, your gears are slipping, try checking your amount of transmission fluid, you may have a leak or a gasket could be blown

my 92 mustang did the same thing before i got the transmission fixed, when i would get on the interstate, it would rev all the way up to 6k rpms until id let off then it would go back into gear

Check the fluid level in your transmission,it sounds low about 2 quarts.Make sure the car is warm and engine running in park, and ebrake on,before checking.

Sounds like a throttle position sensor, I had same problem and these little buggers are the cause 3/4 of the time.

Also check your trans fluid to make sure its full.

Try checking the fluid level, you may have a slow leak. I had the same problem with my Dakota, as long as I kept the fluid level at the proper level the problem went away.
