Describe both of them. What did they do to make you hate/love them so much?

(I'm majoring to become a teacher and wanted some insight)

the ones i still thank are the ones that let me express myself (when it came to literature etc) and the ones that helped understand what i had a problem understanding with patience and a smile (usually math and chemistry lol!)

i only hated two teachers in my life.
a) a teacher who for no reason i know always picked on me and said in front of everybody that i was not studying (i always got the best test results when she wasn't grading....).
as my co-students informed me she didn't like me cause i was sitting with her favorite student (a boy surprise surprise!)

b)a college professor who told me in my face that i had not done the essay myself cause i hadn't been to his office to work with him on that essay (i was in another city working, an internship that is mandatory at my university and i was always sending him e-mails with my progress).
i did a presentation and he gave me the lowest score making my degree look just B+ since that essay was the final essay before my graduation....
he did not like me cause i was always in a good mood(go figure...!)

my advice is this:
you are a human being and you are bound to like some students more than others and dislike some students for no obvious reason.
do not show that in your class.
your job is to help everybody learn.
and keep your life problems out of the class too

the teacher i hated with a passion was my algebra 2 teacher. she had no correct form of teaching and she long done needed to be retired because graphing calculators weren't invented when she was around...she had no i dea what she was doing and graded really tough.

the teacher i still thank today is my history teacher freshmen year in high school. she definitely knew what she was talkin abt and she was obviously a very well-learned person and even though i didn't make the best of grades, i learned A LOT.
her teaching method was amazing she always had an attention grabber at the beginning and ended with a moral to the story. she def made u think

I had a math teacher who made me feel like a complete idiot when I didn't understand something. I hated him with a passion and after I got out of his class I hated math with a passion, too.

On the other hand I had an English teacher who at least acted like she really cared about us as individuals and worked WITH us to get/keep our grades up. For example if we were having trouble finding a topic for a presentation she would help. Or if we were having trouble finding material we could use in reports she would steer us in the right direction. She never did the work for us, but she helped us learn how to do it ourselves. She was great.

I hope you are more like my former English teacher. Good luck to you.

The short story:
the one I hated was an evil bi**h - she had NO sense of humor - NONE!
The ones I loved (there were 2) were really down to earth people with a great sense of humor. They knew how to laugh with the kids every once in a while - but they were also my toughest teachers academically. They held you to a higher standard, but they treated you with fairness and respect and you could tell they actually wanted you to succeed and cared if you didn't.

Teacher I hated was a nun that always made me kneel on a ruler.

Teacher I loved was in high school & he knew that I had personal issues at home. He would always kind of bust my *** with classwork & act like he was pissed off at me, but then after class he would tell me that I could talk to him anytime I wanted to.

Years after graduation he came to one of our reunions and I thanked him for noticing that I was in trouble. He said he was worried about me & was so happy that I turned out to be so successful.

In 6th grade i loved my math teacher!! she was so cool! she just tried to make everything fun and interesting and cracked jokes and was just cool! my geography teacher was boooooring and overlystriiiiiict. Oh! and my other geography in 7th grade! she was my favorite teacher ever! I think it was bc she tried to connect with the whole class and made jokes and really tried to get to know everyone. We woud have whole class discussions on something where she would just let us say what we wanted and it was just so great. I miss her a lot

Mr.Wepman I liked, he used an out-of-the-box approach. What I mean is that he followed the text book sorta, but used his imagination to make listening to him entertaining by bringing in examples of the topic, putting something tangible to what he was trying to say. He also tried very hard to relate to us and understand the best way to teach our class by getting to know a little about each one of us....our class was about 35 students and he made each one of us feel important.

Mrs. Stills....always seemed angry or put-off. Kind of like she was going out of her way to answer a question so no one asked many questions and that made the class drag-on, and basically it was hard to retain any information if any was given.

Open-minded, trying to relate to your kids is very important. Good luck, your dealing with our future generation...no pressure :)

I had a teacher that kept comparing us to her other classes, and how much better those kids were.

And a teacher that yelled at me for putting chapstick on, because she thought it was glue, her face was halarias when I showed her...

Mrs. M. was real mean. She always had her favorites and acted like the rest of us were something she just tolerated. Mr. G. was great. He was fair to everyone and treated us all equally. He also taught us good sportsmanship and citizenship. I will never forget him. Thanks, Mr. G.
