I'm quite fond of the Anita Blake books. You might want to try Charlaine Harris' Southern Vampire Mysteries series (it's being adapted into a TV series for fall). Lynsay Sands, Kelley Armstrong, Kim Harrison and MaryJanice Davidson all write vampire series.

The second one is good it is just mostly about Jacob Black. You might want to read it because the last few chapters reveal some very important information about Bella. I know it has nothing to do with vampires but the Maximum Ride series by James Paterson is really good and in the same genera. I love the Christean Feehan novels she has dozens in the series. It is called her Dark series. It is about Carpathians and vampires. Very action packed but there is a little sex. They don't have to be read in order either. I loved Dark Guardian and Dark Legend. They are in the middle of the series, but it didn't mess me up to read them first.

i liked twilight's sequel New Moon. If you liked Twilight than i recommend author Amelia Atwater Rhodes. She has four vampire novels for teenage readers and a series about human-animal shapeshifters. her books got me interested in vampires and such.

Charlaine Harris' Sookie Stackhouse series is fantastic. Start with DEAD UNTIL DARK.
Also Susan Hubbard's the Society of S was pretty good.

Assuming you haven't allready read it which you may well have.
Bram Stokers "Dracula" is an amazing book.
Don't pass it over because you know the story.
The way it is written is so good I had to close my window when reading the scary bits.

well, you could go with Dracula by Bram Stoker of course, that's a classic. If you're looking for short stories, my brother recommends Supermonsters by Daniel Cohen.
