What is a good brand of mens watches under $400?

My husbands b-day is coming up. He's been wanting a watch with a black rubber band , chronograph like the Omega Seamaster but i can't afford that! So I'm looking for another good quality brand that won't cost me over $400.
btw what is the difference between swiss army and wenger?
Is swiss army played out??

Wenger is a cheap watch made in Japan. Swiss Army is actually a pretty good watch in the $400 range that is actually Swiss Made.

As far as other good watches similar to Omega, it depends what he's looking for.

If it's a dive-watch, Seiko makes a nice one in the $300s (plus you can tell him that's also a James Bond watch since it was what he wore before he switched to Omega). See link below for a picture. It's almost as nice as an Omega in my opinion.

If he wants a Swiss watch because of the quality, check out Hamilton watch company and Swiss Army. They make nice watches and are close to that price range.

If he's just in love with Omegas (I'm a collector and own a few Seamasters myself so I know the feeling) and really wants that watch, just feel good knowing that it will last him a very long time and he'll still be grateful a year later if you have to skip Xmas presents to justify the expense. You can find a Seamaster for a little over a grand if you shop around online.

For anything less that $400, with good quality watch that would last you a life time, with looks paralleled with other Swiss brands like Omega, high resell value...I would highly recommend Seiko Watches. I had a Seiko5 watch way back from the 60's, its still ticking daily.

Swiss Army watch is now called Victorinox Swiss Army Watch to differentiate themselves from the general terms of "Swiss Army".

Victorinox Swiss Army Watch and Wenger Watch are BOTH Swiss made watches. Both of these Swiss company not only made great Swiss Watches, but also well known for manufacturing Swiss Army Knifes.

Is he dead set on something with a rubber wrist band? If it's a watch for everyday office, casual use, I would say go with a leather or metal band for more stylish looks. Check out Seiko watches at kohls.com. The watch I linked below looks awesome to me.

i love swiss army watches. They are great quality. have had one for over ten years and never had a problem. just replace battery every once in a while.

Watches are simple. If you want him to wear it all the time, I mean all the time, casual, dressed up, beach, skiing you name it there is only one watch. Buy a Tag Heuer, but make sure hes worth it...
